Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (also known as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)) is not a very well understood condition, and is often difficult to diagnose.
RSD is a disabling condition with simultaneous involvement of nerve, skin, muscle, blood vessels and bone. RSD’s main characteristics are continuous pain and a burning sensation. RSD can affect any part of the body, but most commonly affects the hands and wrists, feet and ankles, or knees. Occasionally, a whole limb can be affected. The area of the body affected by RSD is usually very sensitive to touch and merely stroking the affected area can cause severe pain.
In severe cases of RSD, the affects can have a profound consequence on a person’s life and their family.
If you are suffering from RSD as a result of the negligence of an employer, our experienced personal injury team can help you claim compensation.
