Pleural Thickening
The pleura is a double layered membrane surrounding the lungs and lines the inside of the ribcage. It is possible for some asbestos fibres that have been inhaled into the lungs to work their way into the pleura. This can cause the pleura to thicken and can cause scarring to develop.
Pleural thickening can also restrict the expansion of the lungs and can lead to breathlessness.
If you are suffering from pleural thickening as a result of the negligence of an employer, our experienced personal injury team can help you claim compensation.
The specialist asbestos team at Ashton Morton Slack have many years experience in all aspects of asbestos related diseases and work closely with dedicated charities and medical professionals to ensure that you get the advice and support you need. Through this work we have gained a national reputation for securing much deserved compensation, as well as making sure our clients get the care they need.
