Accidents abroad

If you have been involved in an accident abroad that has been caused by someone else, you may be able to claim compensation. However pursuing claims and proving liability can be complicated. The team at Ashton Morton Slack are experts in this field and can help and advise you of options available to you.

Road traffic accidents

If you have been involved in a road traffic accident abroad, whether as a driver, passenger or pedestrian then you may be able to claim compensation. If your accident occurred in the European Union you could be entitled to claim compensation from a special motor insurance bureau, which has been established to ensure that victims of road traffic accidents do recover compensation, even in "hit and run" cases.

Claims against holiday companies

Regulations in place since 1992 make tour operators and other holiday providers responsible for all services that are provided as part of a package holiday. This includes; air travel, cruises, coach transfers and all aspects of hotel accommodation, such as food and facilities. If the tour operator, hotel staff or anybody connected with the package holiday fails in their duty and this causes you injury or illness, the regulations allow you to sue the tour operator in the English courts.
