Redundancy and your legal rights
Sometimes employers take the decision or have no option but to make redundancies. If this happens then there are certain procedures that they must follow. For example the process to determine which employees should be made redundant must be fair; there must be consultation with the employees involved; the correct notice should be given and the correct amount of redundancy pay should be paid; and alternatives to redundancy must be considered.
If you have been made redundant and feel that you employer may have selected you unfairly, failed to follow the correct procedure or you just want to make sure that your redundancy payment is correct then Ashton Morton Slack can look into the process of your redundancy and advise you on the merits of any claim you may have.
We are happy to have an initial telephone discussion without charge on any matter. We aim to have a clear and flexible approach to funding options, therefore we can provide an outline of what the estimated cost may be at the outset. This allows you to assess at an early stage whether it is financially viable to pursue the matter. For more details on the funding options available please click here.
